Expect a Warm Welcome….For You and Your Pet
When you arrive at Lockerby Animal Hospital, you will be greeted by our friendly reception team who like to spoil your pet with a treat…with your permission, of course! The reason for your visit to our veterinary clinic will be recorded in your file and if you are a new client you will be asked for a detailed history of your pet’s health. This can also be submitted online or printed out and completed prior to the clinic visit using our New Client Registration Form.
To help us track the overall wellness of your pet over time, he or she will be weighed at each visit. Dogs will be weighed in the waiting room and cats in the calmer environment of the exam room. A member of our animal care team will show you into an examination room as soon as one is available.
It is the goal of our team that all patients are seen on time. Sometimes emergency cases may present to our animal hospital which will create unexpected delays. We will ensure these times are minimized as much as possible and thank you in advance for your understanding should this occur.
Our Registered Veterinary Technician will review your pet’s history and reasons for your visit and Dr. Wilkinson or Dr. Andrews will examine your pet and take the time to answer any questions you may have. Further diagnostic work up and treatments, if necessary, will be planned in collaboration with you. Estimates for any future work required will be given at the time of consultation.
Our Registered Veterinary Technician will then provide you with any further educational information and answer wellness and care questions you may have. Our reception team will finalize billing and schedule any needed follow-up needed at our hospital.
